Question
1 |
On your web page, it states that your company has an ISO 2008
rating.
What does this mean? Who gives this rating? How does this rating
affect an
engine that I might buy? |
Answer
1 |
ISO 9000 is concerned with "quality management". This means what the organization does to enhance customer satisfaction by meeting customer and applicable regulatory requirements and continually to improve its performance in this regard.
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is the
world's largest developer of standards. Although ISO's principal
activity is the development of technical standards, ISO standards
also have important economic and social repercussions. ISO standards
make a positive difference, not just to engineers and manufacturers
for whom they solve basic problems in production and distribution,
but to society as a whole.
ISO is a network of the national standards institutes of 148
countries, on the basis of one member per country, with a Central
Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland, that coordinates the system.
Over the years, ISO has developed many of the standards against
which products are assessed for conformity, as well as the standardized
test methods that allow the meaningful comparison of test results
so necessary for international trade. ISO itself does not carry
out conformity assessment. However, in partnership with IEC
(International Electrotechnical Commission), ISO develops ISO/IEC
guides and standards to be used by organizations which carry
out conformity assessment activities. Once such organization
is IRQA (Indian Registrar of Quality Assurance) which audits
Lovson's conformity to ISO standards for their products and
services.

All the Lister-type water-cooled engines have a "run through water" cooling system. In case you don't want to prepare your own cooling system which is very simple you can opt for a radiator system which at an additional cost.
For Petter type air-cooled engines you also have an option of forced air cool system.

Question18 |
How
do I get it into this country? |
Answer
18 |
You have 2 options here:
Option 1 (Do the clearing on your own)
Pick the shipping port closest to you . Contact the Harbor Master for that port, tell them what you want to do and ask for a recommendation for a broker. Contact the broker (custom house agent) at that port and let him get it through US Customs for you. You will have to arrange to either pick it up yourself, or have a common carrier deliver it to your home, if you can unload a 1000 pound+ crate. If you have someplace close with a loading dock, have it delivered there and pick it up with your
pickup truck. It will not be difficult but will require some patience to go
through each step. Even with the fees, you will save money and get a quality
engine for less money than if you bought it from a dealer on the web.
Option 2 ( DDP - Delivered Duty Paid to your door step)
We will arrange to deliver the engine to you door step through DHL Danza. This is the more expensive option of the two. But it will save you the hassles of Doing the clearing your self.
